Martha's Tale: How a Basset Hound Changed the World
About Martha
Welcome to Martha's Web site. Martha, a Basset Hound has a mission to make the World a better place for all living creatures. Together with her guardian Becky Wenner, Martha plans on raising money for homeless and abused animals, as well as working regularly as a therapy dog, bringing smiles to the elderly and sick children. It is her goal to raise awareness that anyone can make a difference in the world and hopes to encourage community service. This is her story.Martha is a one year old (I guess that would be 7 in dog years) professionally trained Basset Hound. She has appeared in national marketing campaigns, including Tommy Hilfiger and Hush Puppy and has appeared in several commercials. She knows countless behaviors on cue and is a Canine Good Citizen. It is our plan to use Martha's special talents & gifts to change the world. Martha is very special dog.
Martha was born on May 1, 2010, along with six siblings. Martha is a female Basset Hound. I brought Martha home with me when she was only eight weeks old. She is incredibly playful and fiercely loyal. Every day, we go to the park and play or hike. She has always been great around people. As a puppy I realized that she has a special power to heal and make others happy. It was this realization that led me to professional training. I felt that owning such a special dog yielded a responsibility to help her help others. I decided she should be a therapy dog and work to help young children learn to read, and go to nursing homes to share her love with the elderly. At school she was discovered by the All Tame Animals, the premier agency dealing with animal talent.
Martha's first paying job was for Hush Puppy naturally. She was amazing and absolutely loved being in front of the camera and working with others. On this day, we made a commitment to use her skills to raise money and awareness for various charities. Please visit her charity page for more info on the work she is doing.
On her free time, she loves our trips to the park and the beach. Martha also loves car trips (Yes, she sticks her head out the window!). Join me as we follow the wonderful world of Martha, our sweetheart as she changes the world, one smile at a time.
